Happy Endings Response
Margaret Atwoods short story called "Happy Endings" is not the type of story you'd expect with a title like that. The author is infacft making fun of the plots of romantic fiction, chick flicks and make believe happy endings that only happen in Disney movies. She’s poking fun at desperate girls in search of her soul mate and the happily ever after endings that the typical girl wants. She does this by giving you four different scenarios in which the girl is desperate and thrives for a man to be her soulmate. In examle A she it's the most typical example of happy endings where the girl meets the boy, they fall in love, get married and live happily ever after. In the next few examples of love stories it always has the girl’s character as desperate for whatever man she is chasing after. She shows readers that these girls are pathetic and will do anything for their own happy ending when really all endings end the same. No matter who you are with, the sad truth is that we shouldn’t worry about the end but the beginnings and what we’re going to do with them.
